STRATA/COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT -South Australia
Education and Training
Individuals wishing to provide management services to the Strata and Community Title Sector in South Australia must have a proficient understanding of the Strata Titles Act of 1988 and the Community Titles Act of 1996. A Manager must be computer literate, have sound administrative and financial management skills, people management skills, verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in conducting meetings.
It is anticipated that the Certificate IV qualification in Property Operations will be recognised as the foundation qualification for the future of the Industry and be adopted by people wanting to work and operate a business in the Strata and Community Management Sector. Courses are currently being prepared for delivery in the second semester of 2007.
It is also anticipated that the qualification will be recognised by current State jurisdictions where registration and/or licensing exists, and industry recommends that the qualification be also adopted by those other States and Territories contemplating the regulation of this sector of the property industry in the future.
The Community Titles Institute of SA Inc., (CTISA) is the professional association representing Strata/Community Managers in SA. The CTISA is an Affiliate member of the National Community Titles Institute (NCTI), the peak industry body representing Affiliate members nationally.
